A friend of mine recently posted about his grandfather passing away. The way that he views his grandfather is how I see my daddy and I hope how Janie and Si will see me one day...
"Everything I am today, I owe to my grandfather. He took us in and raised
me without question after my parents died. After he had already more
than earned his retirement and rest. He taught me values, dignity, that
your word was your bond, the importance of respecting others, and that
with hard work... One could earn life's rewards. My upbringing, my
career, my sense of duty, my love of family... I will carry these forth
in remembrance of you always."
